“Art of Discrimination” addresses the urgent issue of prejudice against persons with disabilities. The artwork depicts a common social psychological event—confrontation between the physically handicapped and the non-disabled. One block is severely damaged, rendering it incapable of performing normal functions (handicapped). The other blocks are arranged to suggest a typical human reaction: avoidance. The use of large-scale concrete blocks instead of humans reduces discomfort and encourages self-analysis and a discussion about discrimination."  Nolan Haan
